SOPHOMORES The Sophomore class started out the 1949-50 school year by electing their class officers who are as follows: President, Bob Groves; Secretary, Joyce Jones; Student Council Representative, Lyndel Finley; Program Chairmen, Diane Jackson and Doug Ostrander. The Sophomores who made letters in football this year were: Larry Schweinfurt, Bill Willard, Don Laird, Eddie Howe, Bob Groves, Doug Ostrander and Leonard Scolari. Basketball letters were made by Eddie Howe, Larry Schweinfurt, and Leonard Scolari. Basketball and football numerals were made by a number of Sophomore boys. The Sophomore band members arc: Jesse Thurman, Peggy Tuttle, Pete Harvey, Jerry Miller, Mary Pingleton, Jack Purkey, and Lyndley Simpson. The Sophomores initiated the Freshmen in the first part of the year. They also held a Basket Social and a Food Sale in March. The Sophomores found Miss Girts to be a very capable advisor. 22
