This group sang for special occasions such as the dedication of Fort Island 'Slew mentary School ond as a select group at their concerts. n the picture at left are ten members of the choir chosen by Mr. Unger to sing in All- County Choir, which had one hundred fifteen members, all of whom were chosen by their directors at their own schools. r Rm., ,..f Al.miD!,- A - tt, Concent Band Under the direction of Mr. Unger, this year's Concert Band of fifty-two members took part in many events. Aside from giving a concert on March l8th, the band played for N.H.S. tapping, for pep meetings and participated in the All-County Music Festival held on April 2 at Memorial Hall. The Concert Band also adopted a Band handbook and elected officers. The officers were Ada Shumaker, president, Harley Sir Louis, Vice-President, and Cheryl Sombati, Secretary-Treasurer. Madelyn Richardson served as librarian and Gary Mikolaskek was quartermaster. Also elected were four class representatives to serve on the Band Council. They were Les Smith, freshman representative, Barbara Hickman, sophomore, Diane Kennedy, iunior and Keith Carlson, senior, the three officers were the remaining members. Among the money raising projects for this year were the concert, selling pens, fruit cakes, and the annual swim party, held in May. The last three proiects were directed by the Copley Band Boosters, a group of parents organized to aidlthe band in any possible way. The money raised will be used to help send the band members to camp this coming summer. The picturegn the lower left hand corner is a group of trombone players who will make a performance in the March concert. The picture in the lower right hand corner shows ten members of the band chosen by Mr. Unger for the All-County Band. i 9
