I guess the tradition's been the same For Freshmen they called us--that was our name. As we climbed the stairs that proved a grind We looked for the escalator we could not find. We had a rough time with our studies Often copied the homework from our buddies. The year passed by so very fast And lovelv June was here at last. II Up in the morning--off to school About to follow the golden rule. New books--new classes--new faces Ready to go through our usual paces. Our first dance was the NValentine Hopn There we were introduced to Jazz and Bop. The Upper-classmen always had the floor and only glanced at a lonely Sophomore. Still the year went by too soon For in a short space of time it was June. III Nineteen fifty-three came by very swiftly For Juniors we were then--never more to be again. Upper-classmen, we were thusly addressed Coplay's spokes--as you might have guessed. At last we all could take a part In activities, like basketball, for a start Our Junior Prom was a huge success It gave us a chance to primp and dress Christmas came with an assembly gay Our Junior year was passing away Good bye, Junior Year, with your laughter and fun, You certainly have been an eventful one! Then around came June, as she did before, And we find school about to end once more when leaves begin to turn and it starts getting cool We know that 1t's time to return to school Our Senior year had finally come at last Almost forgotten was our eventful past Our Senior debate is an annual affair When we were Juniors we were slightly scared In our Senior year as our courage grew We did the job as we always knew By spring we had our last big chance When we were guests at our Senior Dance There was fun and laughter, the music was gay and light, All of us stayed and danced 1nto the night Our spring vacation was on the way With graduation soon after May what we waited for was nearly here And we are ready though a tear Uhr s 7.
