Alexanders Receive Dedication The 1988-89 anniversary edition of the Trillium is dedicated to Wade and Sharon Alexander, who first joined the Co-Lin faculty in the fall of 1970. Their participation in school, special, and community events over the past 19 years is clearly evident, and their leadership has been recognized by the adminis- tration and fellow faculty members. Mrs. Alexander, an English instructor, has served as overall chairperson of the 60th anniversary celebration and as vice chairman in the faculty staff drive of the Investment in Excellence campaign. She is a former president of the Copiah-Lincoln Education Association, is an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma educator ' s organization, and for several years, served as co-sponsor of Co-Lin ' s Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Mrs. Alexander was chosen to Outstanding Educators of America and in 1967 was star teacher at Crystal Springs High School. She attended William Jewell College in Missouri and received her bachelor of science and master of education degrees from Mississippi College. Mr. Alexander is chairperson of Co-Lin ' s social science division and is a history instructor. He is a former track and assistant football coach. The Columbus native is a graduate of Co-Lin and received his bachelor of science degree from Mississippi State University and his master of education degree from Mississippi College. He served in the United States Army for two years, was an assistant coach at Tunica, head football and track coach at Crystal Springs and Bastrop, La. Mr. Alexander is a member of the Mississippi Junior College Faculty Association, and he was president of the Wesson Lions Club in 1976-77. The Alexanders have two children, Wade and Amy, who are both Co-Lin graduates. 17
