The revolu- tionaries poured out blood, the Sec- ond Continental Congress gave sweat, and the martyrs who died un- der an imperialistic nation let us shed tears. But after the battle was won, the war still raged within our own borders. Governments were tried and governments failed, but at last one was reached that gave rights and freedoms to all: The United States Constitution. With this basic founda- tion, an entire nation was set forth. Although these were humble begin- nings, over 200 years later this na- tion became one of the most powerful nations on the face of the earth. This was the beginning of our future as Americans. But as young people came to achieve higher education, N THE BEGINNING just as our nation had humble be- ginnings, so do many of the stu- dents at Copiah-Lincoln. Humble beginnings, However, never mean humble ends.
