Dr. Thomes hos been o leoder in Mississippi educotion since coming to Co-Lin in 1968. He hos served os president of the Mississippi Associotion of Colleges, os president of the Mississippi Junior Col- lege Associotion ond os o member of the Mississippi Junior College Commission. ln oddition, he hos serv- ed os o member of the Boord of Directors of the Southern Associotion of Communityflunior Colleges ond o number of other boords. He is currently serv- ing on the boord of directors of the Executive Monogement Institute. Dr. Billy Thomes is octive in the Wesson Lions Club, hoving served twice os its president. He com- pleted o term os District Governor of the Lions Club in 1983.ond wos chosen Choirmon of the Council of Governors of Lions Club for Mississippi for 1983-84. He is currently the Lion Troiner for the Stote of Mississippi. He hos served in vorious offices for professionol, service, religious, ond froternol orgonizotions.
