Dr. Billy B. Thames Dr. Billy Thames is active in the Wesson Lions Club, having served twice as president. He completed a term as District Governor of the Lions Club in 1983 and was chosen Chairman of the Council of Gover- nors of Lions Club for the State of Mississippi for 1983-1984. He has served in various offices for professional, service, religious, and fraternal organizations. Dr. Thames is married to the for- mer Anne Allen of Monticello and they are parents of Rachel, Rebecca, and William, Jr. The Thames family consists of Dr. and Mrs. Thames: ll to rj Rebecca, Rachel, and William. Thames, president of the Copiah-Lincoln Junior College District since January, 1968, works constantly for the expansion and the growth of both the Wesson and the Natchez campuses. His dreams of a bigger and better Copiah-Lincoln have been shown in the expansion of many programs, the innovation of new programs, the growth in enrollment, with the completion of numerous new buildings, the renovation of many older buildings, and the founding of the Natchez Campus in 1972. Dr. Thames has been a leader in Mississippi education since coming to Co-Lin from Belhaven College in 1968. He has served as president of the Mississippi Association of Col- leges and as president of the Missis- sippi Junior College Association. He has served on numerous boards and committees for higher education. I8 Mrs. Keith McDaniel ' an instructor since 1966 at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College's Wesson campus in English and Spanish. ' an honor graduate of Belhaven College who did graduate work at the University of Mississippi and who received her Master of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. ' a graduate of Union Point High School in Georgia who attended Pyeng-Yang High School in Korea where her parents were missionaries for 30 years. 1 ' a Christian lady who has influenced hundreds of students throughout the years with her witness, her kind word, her friendly smile. ' a lady whose husband is James McDaniel. They are parents of two sons, Kent McDaniel and Kirk McDaniel, and of one daughter, Carol McDaniel Taylor. ' a person who taught at Sandersville, Heidelberg, and Lumberton High Schools before joining Co-l.in's faculty. ' an active member of the Copiah-Lincoln Education Association: Mississippi Junior College Faculty Association: Daughters of the American Revolution: Mississippi Language Association: Mississippi Association of Educators: and Delta Kappa Gamma, national honorary society for women educators. ' a co-advisor of Good News Fellowship, a non-denominational religious organization, she founded on campus several years ago. ' an active member of the Presbyterian church, where she has been a Sunday School teacher, choir member, Women's Group officer, and Bible Study teacher. an instructor loved by her students and by faculty members alike who is retiring this year after 18 years of dedicated service to Copiah-Lincoln Junior College.
