DECA, standing for Distributive Education Clubs of America, is open to students in distribution and marketing technology. Each April members compete in the State DECA Leadership Conference in Iackson in various categories.

Members include tfront 1 to rj Robin Weathersby: Alita Summers, publicity chairman: Cindy Milton: the Rev. Roy Smith, BSU director: Nannette Bates, program chairman: Suzanne Coleman: Shirley Campbell, and Roger Whittington. On the back are Lewis Kalil: Ronald Iones: Roger Walker, president: Herman Sylvester, vice president: the Rev. Ron Barham, Wesley Foundation sponsor: Lynn Bilbo: Al Shi- you, secretary: and lim Lightsey, SCA sponsor. Christian Focus Week is sponsored by the Student Christian Association during first semester, while Religious Emphasis Week is held second semester. This year a new format for Focus Week was adopted, appealing to a larger segment of the student body. Programs include speakers on brotherhood and human relations, premarital and sex information, thana- tology, and mental health. Each speaker, an expert in his field, returned during the second semester for a seminar in following up on his subject. Well-known speakers are sought each year for REW such as Grady Nutt who appeared last year. Other activities were sponsored by the SCA, which is composed of presidents, sponsors, and representatives from the religious organizations on campus. Weekly meetings of the SCA are held. SCA sponsors Focus Week, Religious Emphasis Week Scenes from the frog race held prior to Christian Focus Week. Frog jumpers included such campus personalities as Iim Lightsey. Rev. Roy Smith, and Crover Smith. A cold afternoon was had by all.

Middle row includes Shelly Summers. Tommy Tanner, Nannette Bates, the Rev. Ron Barham, advisor: and Matt Buckles. Third row includes Kathy Brister, Ieanette Smith, Martha Tarver, Bubba Keywood and Al Shiyou. Wesley provides a church home away from home for Methodist students and all others who wish to join for worship and fellowship. Meetings are held weekly in the Wesley room upstairs over the bookstore. Serving on the Wesley Council are A1 Shiyou, Kathy Brister, Nan Bates, Tommy Tanner, Bubba Keywood, and Suzanne Cliett. BSU holds Vespers, sponsors many activities Q' 3 ,:., Hp' ,. Baptist Student Union officers include tfirst row l to rl Ianice Saxon, historian: Patsy Lee, special activities: Lola Page, missions chairman: Cindy Milton, Vespers chairman: Lynette Singletary, secretary: Glenda Hilliard, dorm representative. Second row includes the Rev. Roy Smith, BSU director: Sue Spencer. dorm representative: Danny Harrell, faculty advisor: Angela Northup, Vespers chairman: Herman Sylvester. dorm representative: Roger Whittington, communications: and Lynn Bilbo. president. Not pictured is Tommy Sparkman, dorm representative. BSU activities are varied and numerous. A pre-school retreat, the BSU state convention and officers' retreat, Youth Night in jackson. weekly trips to rest homes in the area. regular meetings, and Vespers Monday through Thursday evening are just part of the activities offered. One does not join BSU, but he instead participates in its many activities.
