During this time she and her members have attended many national.and state conventions and other PTK functions. . . . A faculty member since 1946 . . . chairman of the English Department for many years . . . chairman of the Humanities Division for the last five years . . . instructor in Freshman English and English Literature. . . . Member of c0piah-LinC01n Education Association fwas vice president in 1964--65 and president in 1965-66Jg member of Mississippi Education Associationg National Council of Teachers of English, former president of Wesleyan Service Guild . . . Was co-sponsor of Wesley Foundation on campus for several years. . . Active member of Decell Memorial Methodist Church. . . . Member of Delta Kappa Gamma, international education fraternity, since 1946. Her three years as president was the longest in the chapter's history. This year the Theta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma nominated her as recipient of the Achievement Award for Mississippi. . . Named an Outstanding Educator of Americaf' in 1972. . . . Educated at Sturgis High School, Bachelor of Arts from Grenada College fnow part of Millsaps Collegejg Master of Arts from the University of Alabamag additional work at Mississippi College, the University of Alabama, and the University of Southern Mississippi. . . . Before coming to Copiah-Lincoln, she taught at Sallas in Attala County, Wren in Monroe Countyg the Choctaw County Agricultural High School, Starkville City Schools, and Louisville High School. . .
