MR. BILLY B. THAMES Copiah-Lincoln junior College is proud to have as its president one of the state's outstanding young educators. Since becoming our president in jan- uary, 1968, Mr. Thames has worked tirelessly for the betterment of Copiah-Lincoln. Born and reared in Lawrence County, President Thames graduated from Monticello High School. He is an honor graduate of Copiah-Lincoln and was selected for the school's first Hall of Fame. He obtained his bachelor of science degree in 1958 from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master of science degree in 1959 from the same institution. Since that time, he has taken some 40 hours of graduate work in guidance and school administration. Mr. Thames has been associated with the Jack- son Public Schools, the Attala County Schools, and Belhaven College, jackson, Mississippi. He is a member of the MEA, NEA, CLEA and Phi Delta Kappa, a national education fraternity. He is on the Board of Directors, Bank of Wesson, Choctaw District Leadership Training Chairman, Boy Scouts of America, and, Sunday School De- partment Superintendent and Deacon, Wesson Baptist Church. President Thames is a member of the Lionls Club and the Kiwanis Club. He and Mrs. Thames, the former Anne Allen, are the parents of three children, Rachel Lynn, Rebecca Leigh and William Bass, jr.
