He has shown his interest in the Co- Lin student in many ways. A native of Monticello, he came to Co-Lin from Belhaven College in Jackson Where he served as di- rector of admissions for three years. He had pre- viously been associated with Chastain Junior High School, Jackson, and with McAdams School, Attala County. V Mr. Thames obtained his bachelor of science de- gree in 1958 from the University of Southern Missis- sippi and a master of science degree in 1959 from the same institution. Since that time he has taken 40 hours of graduate work in guidance and school ad- ministration at Mississippi State University, the Uni- versity of Mississippi, and Mississippi College. He was an honor graduate of Copiah-Lincoln. An active student in all phases of campus life, he was named to Co-Lin's first Hall of Fame. He is past president of the Mississippi Association of College Admissions Counselors and past president of the Belhaven Faculty Club. He is a member of MEA, NEA, and APCA. Mr. Thames has served as treasurer of Phi Delta Kappa, a national education fraternity. He is a member of the Lion's Club and the Brookhaven Kiwanis Club. He and Mrs. Thames, the former Anne Allen, have two daughters, Rachel Lynn and Rebecca Leigh. They are active members of the Baptist Church.
