' Because of his devoted service and outstanding leadership, he is respected by all who know him. A member of the Copiah-Lincoln Education Association and the Mississippi Education Association, Mr. Mullen has devoted the past 17 years of his life to Co-Lin. A Christian individual, he is treasurer of the Wesson Baptist Church and secretary of his Sunday school class, as well as being a member of the Wesson Lions Club. The services of this untiring and patient man, Co-Lin's business manager, who has put first above all things our school and the people within it, have made Copiah-Lincoln a better place. FOl2EWOl2D Our year was a busy one as we were engaged in the many Copiah-Lincoln junior Col- lege and High School activities. Many of us did not leave or go back to the dorms when the dismissal bell rang. Instead, we volunteered to make an extra contribution to Co-Lin. Athletics provided training in sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork, and responsibility. The organizations provided learning, light-hearted fun, and worthwhile relaxation for members. The faculty and administration, people devoted to our growth, shared with us their wisdom, their understanding, and their faith in our potential. All these elements combined to make a student at Copiah-Lincoln a well-rounded, capable, and competent individual in today's society. We come with dif- ferent hopes, dreams, and aspirations. We create a nucleus of diversified interests. Each person has his own ideas and ideals, and each has a goal. For some, this goal becomes a reality, while for others it is one never to be reached. College causes most people's world to change in its scope. Things be- come more real, education more meaningful, friendships more genuine. While here, our lives are transformed, for it is here that we begin to pass from adolescence to adulthood. No one can say when this meta- morphosis takes place, and few can say why, but even fewer can deny it. 2 1 EDUCATOIZ, CMO LEADER, C!-IUIZC!-I WORKER, AND QTNEQMAN PRESIDENT F. M. FOPIENBEIZPY ..a.--,-- '-k MESSAGE TO SOPHOMORE CLASS AND CO-LIN TRILLIUM In years to come your yearbook the Co-Lin Trillium, will be one of your most cherished possessions We always look forward with much anticipation to the delivery of The Trillium because it represents through words and pictures every facet of campus life. Most of us take the Trillium for granted, however, if we would stop for a few moments and evaluate our yearbook it would be quite evident that many, many hours of work and planning are put into this project in order for you to have this excellent publication. Certainly all of us owe a special Thank you to the members of the Trillium staff, the sponsor and the sophomore class for their efforts on our behalf. I should like to challenge personally those of you who are responsible 'for this book and all of the other students at Copiah Lincoln junior College to get the most from the op- portunities that are offered you during your junior college years. If ever in the history of mankind our world needed dedicated, intelligent leadership, it is now. That leadership will either be provided by this generation of fine American young men and women or will come from other areas of the world and other people whose philosophies and ideolo- gies are completely foreign to our way of thinking. Let us, therefore, urge each of you to prepare yourselves for places of responsibility in our future. Our hope and prayer for each of you is that you will find your place of service in your respective community and that you will assume your full obligations as outstanding citizens and leaders in our state and nation Very sincerely yours, F. The completion of new additions to our school and our capable, experienced personnel have made it one of the finest educational institutions in the state. The faculty of Co-Lin helps the student grow mentally and physically. Always available for extra help and advice, they answer above and beyond the call of duty. Behind our faculty stand our administration-the framework of our school. A heavy load is placed upon their shoulders as the various facets of our school, from student activities to curriculum planning, must be coordinated. A measure of gratitude is owed to the Board of Trustees. Although we often do not realize that they are working quietly behind the scenes, our board is at the head of the administrative functions of Copiah-Lincoln. We, the students, would like to say to all of you, who have played such a major role in our school life, a very sincere, Thank you. t, XX fi f , Zf Muff? f 'i ' ff aff 1 OUR FUTURE Xfl MM l X X BOARD OF E gg 5 W W ,O Q VS' 3 f '9 ' . 54. 4 se: 5- 1 S 4 FIRST ROW: Mr. Frank Lowery, Mr. Robert Boling, Mr. Grady Callender.
