Remember the first couple of weeks of school? Sweltering, hu- mid heat caused sweat to slowly drip down our face. Gut hair hung limply, our clothes rivers permeated with deoderant and perspiration and then we walk into the classroom. Air-conditioned rooms seemed close to paradise. When de- ciding who would drive to lunch, most students asked the question, Do you have air conditioning? There is an additional class added to the Copan School system-the preschoolers. It is taught by Genia Castell, and she is aided by Mrs. Sutterfield. They had approxiama- tely twenty kids in the new class. These changes and many more contributed to our yearbook theme Back to the Drawing Board! Finally when Mother Nature lowered the thermostat in late Sep- tember and early October, it was onceiagain time for the Tulsa State Fair to arrive. Groups of -students flocked to the fairgrounds to stroll the midway, ride a few rides, and take in some of the many exhibits. Some jackets were even pulled out of the closets to watch things like the tractor pulls or the dirt track races when the sun went down. Many changes took place over the summer. We got some new teachers in the high school and the grade school. Toby Moreland moved up to Superintendent and Val Cole- man moved up to Vice-Principal. In the grade school, Betsy Graham is the new Principal.
