Getting their witts together during the half and realizing they were up against a determined ball club, they went to work and came out on the big end of the score 19-6. Oct. 19. HOMECOMTNG. The Hornets riding high and feeling fine entered the get favored over Ketchum by several points, but after the first half of play they found thq had their hands full, and had to go to work the second half to cone hone with a 28-0 victory. Nov. 8. Owasso invades the Copan stadium trying to break the winning string of the Hornets, but since it was the last game of the season for the Hornets, and the last time for such stalwarts as, Brown, Phillips, Dilldine, Williams, and the Anderson Brothers, and the fine blocking and tackling of the entire teen they came out on top by a close margin of 1h..13, This being the last game, the Hornets completed an eight game schedule undefeated, and without an injury of any type. Class Prophecy It is the year 1970, and a beautiful evening :Ln Hay Everywhere in the town of Copan are huge posters reading, 'Old Home Week All talent for this program is strictly home talent Every performer was at one time a resident of this town and was a member of our graduating class Seated in the audience are many celebrities As I look about me, I see a number of my old classmates There is Jlmy Gaut, who has become very wealthy through his wise investmmts His money is paying for much of the Old Home Week expenditures And sitting near him is Douglas Anderson, a reaL estate dealer, who owns so much property that he has to keep a card index of it in order to know it himself Seated at one side, watching with interest , I see Mary Helen Falleaf, dignified and haughty I asked about her and found that she is the head matron of a very fashionable girls' school in lew York and has never married Seated by Miss Falleaf is Bill Phillips, the football coach of a famous team up North And by him is Ed Dilldine, his famous assistant They have produced a winning team again this year Standing in the door, looking for old friends, I find Vernon William , editor of the largest daily paper in the state, and very active politically Except that he has grown a trifle stouter and looks more cheerful than ever, he has not changed one bit since his high school days Seated in the corner is Marjorie Foreman, as lovely now as she was then, and soon to marry Bill Spencer He is a Staff Sergeant now, and is making the Air Force his career A man entering now 18 Dr Tom Mciiurtrey, a famous surgeon in a large hospital If there are any accidents tonight we feel sure that 'rom will be doing his job well A round of applause greets the man taking a seat by the window He looks familiar and yet not quite familiar enough How, I know who he is It's Jim Brown Rmember how he used to love rodeos and all that stuff? llow he is the World'd Champion Cowboy We are A woman is sketching the people as they come in and she is doing it very well too Of course you know who that is Yes, it is Greta Griffin They say she has become quite famous as an illustrator of ngasine stories and newspaper articles And now the entertairlent is to begin Before the packed house appears a tall, dignified figure who makes an eloquent address of welcome I remuber our class president , Dewayue Anderson It is, indeed, he low he is a judge of the State Supreme Court He is acting as the master of ceremonies tonight But first he calls our attention to the beautiful flowers and other decorations, saying that they were the gift of Kay Mann, now the leading florist of the town The Juige announces that after the entertainment , refreshments will be served through the courtesy of Miss Lois Lutke, who is proprietor of the delightful Old Home Tea Room low the entertainment is to begin The Judge introduces a prosperous looking man who be says is a Broadway song writer and the author of many popular song hits It is Buddy Cole, and he sings and plays for us his last three compositions and very good they are lext comes a big surprise Miss Glorianna DsLorme, the famous movie actress, and it is our old friend , Artha Thompson, very much changed She has golden hair and is better looking than ever It is no surprise to us that she's such a success in the pictures She could play anything, from Juliet to Mother Goose The spotlight is now shifted to the great auditorium piano , and the Judge introduces Lois Thomas, now pianist in a city church and a teacher in an institute of piano music She plays beautifully and looks not a day older than when she played at the school banquet Then, last of all, out upon the platxorm stro.l.ls a man with a nttle book in his hand I-le needs no introduction from the Judge, for we all recognise him at once as Allan Bryan, the author of those delightful short stories He reads two of them, and then gives a charming little talk, telling how his friends in the old home town inspired many of his best stories Then the entire audience rises , and the performers all appear on the stage at once Our pianist plays, and led by our composer, we all sing 'Auld Lang Sym , and adjourn fa' the promised refreshments from Lois's Old Home Tea Rom. auprouaorhn., ' ' Class Will We, the class of 1957, in the town of Copan, the county of Washington, and the state of Oklahoma,
