THE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL On November 15, 1958, we occupied the new Elementary School which has been under construction since January, 1958. This new building consists of nine classrooms, health and teachers room, elementary gymnasium, storage room, mechanical room, centrally located boys and girls restrooms, principal's office and two custodial closets. It is completely modern with the primary division self contained. The floors are all covered with asphalt tile patterns and the five foot wainscoating is glazed tile. The washroom floors are ceramic tile. The build- ing has a Stromberg-Carlson Inter-communications system with AM and FM Radio and a three speed record player, All plays or other activities in the gym- nasium area can be piped to each room. The building is thermostatically heated by an L. P. Gas hot water system. The building was designed and supervised by Haywood Snipes and Associates,Architects, and constructed by the Phillips Con- struction Company.
