The world was falling in on a few people 's heads the week- end of October 1, 1976. No one knew what to do in all the chaos that Homecoming erupted. Students worked fran- tically to build floats, make costumes and paint signs for the big land emhaustingj pa- rade down Broad Street. There was an awful lot of homework left undone as these stu- dents showed their spirit late into the nights. 86 Features The candidates searched through book after book for just the right dress. Finally, through all the confusion, everything fell into place. The game was fantastic as the Eagles rolled over Paulding County 21-7. Halftime went quickly as everyone anxiously waited the announcement of the 1976 Homecoming Queen. The dance was a success as students 'rocked to the sounds of Blaze-and spirit. .. .IUWV OF' t ws . osrz - EHGLES All 52 . ...A Features 87 s I MQ Coosais 19 76- 77 Homecoming Court Barbara Andrews and Mr. Ralph Andrews and Escorts 88 Features Qi- sf N X . A three-game shut-out headed the season, and the Hurricanes and Yellow Jackets were also left behind with no points to show for their effort. Our boys also held back the Red Elephants to tie the game, and whizzed by the Patriots to leave them wondering where the game went. Coach May should be proud of his flock, as the defensive line only allowed an average of 8.8 points scored against the Eagles per game, while the ojl fense rolled ont an average of 1 3.1, points per game. 5 A . - X vhi Rjgxm in ' S 'WW-,gi nrfm 'ef f ' .1 ,. i' .1 I ag-M ,+A ' l nI.Mllll, M V-fi W , I-, ,K 'n ' 'Nas ' ,, .1 - 'A ,Q f An effort-not of one, but of a whole team-led by a staff of coaches who each gave whatever and however they could-made up the formula for a winning sea- son-an Eagle season. 110 Sports Season Ends 6-3-1 r- I Coosd vs. West Rome On November 6, 1976, the Coosa Eagles flew into Barron Stadium to meet the West Rome Chevftains. It is my sincere hope that as you turn the page, turn the pages of the '77 Eagle that it will adequately help you remember this past school year. From the be- ginning Freshmen to the seniors, I hope that this book equally represents everyone. I would like to thank the following people, who without them, this book wouldnt have been possible. Teresa Wood, who has been of great assistance to me, Susan Plummer, for handling our jhnancial matters, and also the rest of the staff who have done a fantas- tic job this year. And of course I want to express my thanks to our advisor Mr. Cordell, who has put-up with us once again. Without the stu- dents of Coosa the book would not JV, have been possible, thanks for the participation and the support you ii have given to the stajf I greatly ap- preciate the understanding and pa- tience that the members of the faculty exhibited throughout the year, espe- cially on those hectic and confusing picture days. But the biggest thanks goes to the stajf I can never say how proud I am of the work you people did. From the ad staff that prac- tically paid for this book, the sub- scription stajj' who sold the books to hundreds of their classmates, to the editorial staff who cropped, picaed and proportioned this book together. You've been great and its been an ex- perience working with you. Sincerely, Tony Cordell Advisor t l Working with the yearbook stajjf and Mr. Cordell has been a rewarding and unforgetable experience. Sometimes the work was hard and we got on each oth- ers nerves, we may even have shed a tear or two, also it has had it's fun times. Despite these set backs it is al- ways nice to see your work published. I appreciate the diligent work of the Ad Staj' that has done to make this year book possible.
