DEDICATION This school annual is dedicated to the men who have given their time, efforts, and cnergles for the Coopertovrn special school district by serving on the school board. This dedication goes hack to thc year, 1887. when the first school board was com- rlaed of three men, namely, Solomon James, Sr., Uncle Tom Ellis, and John Dowlen. glee board functioned as s three member board until the year 1908. The first five member board started functioning in the year, l909, and was made up of' the' following men. namely. L. A. Miller, James Ormon, F. UB. Sawyer, T. J. Ellis, and M, W. Lipscomb. ' The flrst flve member board functioned actively from 1909 until l948-49, when- at this tlmrthe statejeglslature abolished the Coopertown special school district, and the Robertson County Board of Bducation assumed the responsibility of the operation of 'the C90P0rtown school. n We, ofthe annual staff, salute each man personally for serving on the school-board from III7-I949, thereby making it possible for the children -of the 13th civil district.
