This floor design, a gift of the Class of 1959, is intended to convey these meanings: The large green 'C” with a white background, of course, stands for Coopersville and the school colors. The bronze lamp of knowledge emblem at the top represents the things above all others for which the school stands, that is knowledge, learning and scholarship. School, state, national and world citizenship are represented by the seal of the State of Michigan, on the left. On the right is the scales of justice denoting the moral, ethical and religious standards that students should receive in high school. A healthy body must be the basis of mental, citizenship, and moral training. Thus the laurel wreath at the bottom stands for physical educa- tion, athletics and sportsmanship. The irregular shape of the whole figure denotes the various aspects of curricular and extra-curricular activities in which a student may participate. The lines radiating from the center through various shades of terrazzo in- dicate the different directions students take following graduation. “Broncos
