“The Way We Were’’ This was the 1986 Homecoming theme, which brought back memories of the way we used to be. The week of October 3, started off with the selling of Kool-Aid, ice cream cones, and penny candy during lunch hours. Activities included everything from a jumprope contest to pinning the tail on the Bronco. Monday students carried baby bottles around. Other days ranged from favorite toy day, children's storybook day, P.J. day to the traditional Green-n- White Day. Everyone worked hard throughout the week decorating the halls and the lobby, “Can- dyland. The Class of '89 won first for their “Wizard of Oz“ hall; the seniors followed with a close 2nd place; all the decorations looked extremely creative. Friday’s assembly, with the performance of the class skits, brought lots of laughs to the students and teachers. The pie-in-the-face was quite a tasty event. The seniors enjoyed the honor of first place, but the juniors enjoyed the privilege of smothering them with pie. The seniors received the most class points overall during the week. The help and cooperation of all the teachers, staff, and students made this week one filled with pleasant memories.'
