These past four years made us think of things never dreamed of; They've made us feel different in a very special way. But we must go onward and start thinking of today. Today our heads are spinning because the years flew fast away And the thing we fear most is just living for today. We think back on all the fun. and our hearts begin to feel sorrow; Maybe all these feelings will leave if we start thinking of tomorrow. Tomorrow will be here soon and all we can do is dream And hope things aren't as awful as they already seem. Things won't be so wrong if our memories always stay And they'll be with us always through tomorrow, yesterday, and today. 7 14 17 Couples Bill Schwallier Chris Ferris Ryan Phahler Vicki Sanford Dan Anderson Lynda Cheadle Brian Schoenborn Kathy Umlor Greg Steffes Lori Kluting Grand Marshall Mr. and Mrs. Danklefsen Dance and Parade 22 4 Freshman Representatives Laura Eisen Scott Constantine 1980 Homecoming King Queen Michele Poley Roger Langeland Sophomore Representatives Cindy Sikkema Mike Hansen Miniature King Queen Darcy Bacon Chad Brown Junior Representatives Kathy Sanford Larry Simons Exchange Student Escort Kim McBride Estaban Bielle 29 Senior Class Officers President: Greg Steffes Vice-President: Lori Kluting Secretary: Vicki Sanford Treasurer: Sherri Rockwell Historian: Steve Umlor jUi -j- ciney 33 Wartin RicliarJ Brown Mebna Way Bui it Suian Waxine Burton 14 f kifip 2). !3usman lAJayne 4. The 1980 Varsity football team was truly a great group. They enjoyed one of the most successful seasons since 1956. They will long be remembered as the best football team in C H S. history. The 8-1 record was marred only by the heartbreaking 14-8 loss to Lakewood. You should always remember the good things, like the big upsets of Sparta and Lowell, the state rankings when we were 7-0, the possible playoff berths, the big crowds, the excitement that was generated by the stu- dent body and community, the T.V. filming, trophies, all conference and all area recognition, all the records that were set. These are the things that should remain part of your memory. As the head football coach I can speak for the entire coaching staff when I say thank-you for your cooperation, enthusiasm, and willingness to work hard. I hope you treasure your accomplishments but continue to strive to achieve suc- cess in your future endeavors. Remember the creed, “I am a champion, I train, work, and live like one .... as a champion, I have pride and I will not tolerate doing less than my best... and I will never quit, regardless of the score...” Live these concepts and you will be successful no mat- ter what you try.
