A Bdfkddfd Look Let us roll back the cur talns of t1me four years to that memorable date September 4 1944 Now lmagme nrnety nlne vouths apprehensrvely approachrng the doors of Coopcrsvrlle Hrgh Who are these eager youngsters Why they are the makrngs of the gr aduatron class of 48' Vrewrng the four years that loomed ahead as a long struggle the realrzatron that they were but stepprng stones to a materralrzatron of mrsty dreams drd not occur to us at the begmnrng of that first year Frrst for purpose of orgamzatron came an electron of officers Havmg become acquarnted wrth our classmates we chose John Czrnder presrdent Frank Colegrove vrce presrdent Elrzabeth Mrtch ell secretary and A1 dlth Burnett treasurer New lnterests and act1v1tres began to fill the days Evr dence of outstandmg athletlc ab111ty was seen A hayrlde was one of the hlghllghts of the year After a fleetrng summer we returned as sophomores a brt matured and busrness lrke enough to come out tops rn the magazme sales for whrch there was the reward of seerng Junror Mrss pre sented for us at the Century Theatre Officers who presrded at the t1me were Joan Buth presldent Roger Laug vrce presrdent Shrrley RISIGU secretary and Betty Kennedy treasurer The nearrng of the holrday season 1nsp1r ed the theme for the Festrve Frollc a school party at Wh1Ch the Soph students to lead the school My how swrftly the year slrpped away Hot dogs and rce cream were enJoyed at North Shore as a farewell to a successful school year September 1946 arrrved seventy srx Junrors greeted one another After ballots were counted rt was found that the electron of officers made Donald Tasker presrdent Marvrn DeMeester vrce pr esldent Andrew Pamer secretary and Melbourne Laug treasurer Intense pr actrce for the pro ductron of Tom Drck and Harry our class play began rn November The grrls enjoyed a drnner treat from the boys for havlng sold the most tickets Spring brought excrtmg plans for a banquet at wh1ch we entertarned the Sen1ors rn a crrcus atmosphere Another June rolled around and rt was trme to attend Baccalaureate and Graduatlorr of the 47 Class For the last t1me we began a year together as a class when we once more entered the gates of Coopersvllle Hlgh School after havlng attained the exalted pos1t1on of Sen1ors We elected Roger Laug presrdent Melbourne Laug vrce presrdent Marvm DeMeester secretary and Joyce Trtus treasurer Semor prctures workrng on the annual practrcrng the Senror play Daddy Long Legs attendlng the banquet presented by the Junrors and takrng our tr rp to Chrcago marked memorable events rn our last year It rs not to be wondered that we approach the close of thrs our SQDIOI rear vuth feelrngs of re gret for the thmgs we must leave behlnd as well as wrth anxrety and great cxpectatlons for vxhat l1es b f e ore us Joyce Davrdson O . 1 . - .
