With them came a new assurance, for gone was their green freshman year, and they now knew the routine of high school life. Possibly, they were a little inclined to look down on the freshmen be- cause that part of their life was in the past. As underclassmen, they had no desire to think about anything seriousg instead they anticipated an ac- tive part in the social life of being a high school student. They worked together and shared together the good times, as well as the bad times. Each helped the other willingly to overcome his shortcomings and his problems, and thus a life-long friendship was created. As the year came rapidly to a close, the sophomores gave careful thought to the year just gone by. They thought about the accomplishments they had made that year, the many lessons they had learned-- some even the hard way through experience, and everyone agreed that it had been a fruitful year. They heaved a sigh and vowed that the coming year would be even more so. 37
