Dianne Godwin bequeaths to Margie Whitley the ability to catch and keep her boyfriend, and on second thought she really doesn't need it. Verna Hendricks and Bernice Joyner leave their quiet and co-operative ways to Betty Jean Bryant, Dorothy Batchelor and Linda Lou Parker. Dolly Joyner leaves her long blond hair to Nellie Eason. Marvin Joyner leaves his leadership qualities and love of MAD magazine to Caswell Hendricks. Lois Joyner leaves to Linda Strickland her friendly smile and her natural blond hair. Charles Lamm leaves to Speight Daniel his ability to sleep in class and his love of an argument. Nancy Land bequeaths her ability to play basketball to Judy Joyner and Carolyn Narron, though they seem to have plenty already. Dolly Langley leaves to Peggy Baker the right to be Most Likely To Succeed . Sylvia Langley leaves her happy-go-lucky ways to Peggy Langley. Aster Blossom Lindsey leaves the right to have the cutest nickname in the Senior Class to Vivian Goat Baker. Kay Lindsey leaves her outstanding typing ability to Judith Dawes. Kent Lindsey leaves his love of high speeds on the highway to Bobby Boone. Della Moss leaves to Shelby Jean Smith her quick temper as she won't be needing it any longer. David Parker leaves his love of baseball to Lee Joyner. Durwood Patterson leaves his many hours of studying to Roy Edgerton. Lois Carol Tucker leaves her musical abilities to Nellie Eason. Lanna Turner leaves the right to have loads of fun on their Washington trip to Lula Ferrell and Dina Cooly. Harold Ward leaves his hopes to graduate to Billy Bone and Dennis Langley. Larry Weaver leaves to George Winstead and Alvin Poland his love of music. Carolyn Whitley leaves her ambitions to Mary Batchelor. Beverley Williams leaves to her sister, Barbara, her sweet, agreeable ways. Bobby Winstead leaves his unconcerned ways to Wayne Land, Cordell Vickers, and Joseph Vickers. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT State of North Carolina County of Nash City of Nashville We, the Senior Class of Coopers High School of the aforesaid state and county, being of sound mind and body and being in a charitable mood, do hereby 'make and declare this to be our Last Will and Testament. Having developed our talents to the greatest extent, we do delcare the following persons to be the lawful and rightful heirs to our fortunes. ARTICLE I To Mr. Pearce, our principal, we bequeath our love and thanks for his unfaltering efforts to guide us through twelve years of difficult study, tremendous tasks, and wonderful times. ARTICLE II To the faculty, who have instructed us wisely, we bequeath peace and tranquility for their willingness to give of their service twelve years. May we make you proud of your endeavor. ARTICLE III To the Freshmen, we bequeath our opportunities to study diligently, to have fun, and to develop sound attitudes which will cause you to achieve success in high school. ARTICLE IV To the Sophomores, we bequeath to you this advice: Be co-operative, be understanding, be appreciative, be ambitious, and be studious. ARTICLE V Mildred Alford and Aileen Winstead leave the right to be engaged seniors to Joe Ann Whitley, Dolly Vick, Peggy Moon, and Julia Eason. Nancy Baker bequeaths her homemaking desires and quiet ways to Betsy Joyner. Dorothy Batchelor wills her charming manner to Ida Eason. Donald Boone leaves his happy-go-lucky attitude to Kenneth Edwards. Renny Breedin leaves his love'em and leave'em attitude to Billy Winstead. Sandra Cockrell leaves her ability to accomplish any task undertaken to Julia Joyner. Jean Daniel leaves to Violet Strickland the headaches and hard work that accompanies being Editor of the Cohisan. Patricia Driver leaves her seat in shorthand class to Linda Sherrod. Anne Eason leaves her baby ways to Linda Cone. Kelly Glover leaves the right to have loads of fun at the Beta Club Convention to Ruben Mosley. Anne Ferrell leaves her scholastic abilities and sparkling personality and her turned up nose to Margaret Joyner. Faye Edwards leaves her flirtatious ways and strong determination to all Junior girls that they may use them to the best advantage. Kent Lindsey leaves his love of sports to Ray Moss. Jerry Mosley leaves his title of cutest and neatest male to Johnnie Tyson. Carolyn Powell leaves to Peggy Joyner her dignified ways. Dickie Price leaves his love to drive fast to Braxton Barnes. Dennis Sherrod leaves his quiet ways to John Baker. Donald Sherrod leaves his courteous ways to Johnny Poland. 25
