December Jueludes Hauer Seeiefy Induction Tony Cumby and Kent Churchill talk with new Honor Society members, Jackie Anton, Jim Parker, and Tommy Culver. December was a busy month tor many Cooper students. The National Honor Society Induc- tion was held at the first of the month. The theme tor the induc- tion was Foundations tor the Future. Forty-eight iuniors and seniors were inducted into the society. The Powderputt Football game sponsored by the National Forensic League was also held in December. The game resulted in a tie between the two teams. Near the end ot the month stu- dents began working on term papers that had to be turned in before or immediately after the holidays. On December 21, school was dismissed for the holidays. Kathleen Murphy reads the names of the new members to be inducted into the Honor Society as Mr. Anthony and members listen.

Assemblies liven january After .Wmzls DO YOU LIKE MY IMITATION OF A KISSING GROMIE? .lere Burrus and Larry Reiman performed for a paid assembly for the Commentarius. MY FOOT IS GOING TO SLEEP. Tom Smith, Carol Couch, Janis Sims, Duane Greer, Kent Churchill, and Janis Miles participate in Spoon River Anthology. The We-Four performed at one of the January assemblies. The group was from HardinfSirnmons University. DON'T LEAVE US IN THE DARK. Tom Smith acts as narrator for Spoon River Anthology. January was filled with many activities for students at Cooper. The week of the I6-QI was one of the busiest of the year. It was the week of finals which concluded the first semester. Many hours were spent in study- ing and preparing for the two hour tests that were given in each course. Also, several as- semblies were enioyed by the school. Jere Burrus and Larry Reiman, Cooper exes, per- formed ata paid assembly. A group of sing- ers from Hardin Simmons also entertained. The drama department presented Spoon River Anthology. DON'T CRY, YOU WON'T BE GROUNDED FOR MORE TEN YEARS. Glenda Gracy, Randy Spence, and Montgomery check grades.
