DEDICATION Dr. Cooper attained outstanding achievements as a great man and educator and as a master builder in the history of Texas education. He was a man of high honor and unselfish devotion, both to education and to the destiny of Texas youth. Among his accomplishments of leadership and service, Dr. Cooper was founder of Cooper Boys' Ranch, the superintendent of the Galveston public schools, and a college president. In tribute to the traits and accomplishments of Oscar Henry Cooper, the first edition of the TALISMAN is dedicated to his memory.

STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Dear Student Body, I am sure that all of us would agree that this has been a very successful first year for Cooper High School. In serving as the government of the student body, the Student Council has worked very hard for what it feels has best served the interests of Cooper High School. It is my sincerest wish that students of Cooper may secure the best education possible and, at the same time, enjoy the rich pleasures that come our way during high school years.
