Gkss yj!'O!0 QCY In the year of 1963, my husband and I decided to take a trip around the world to see our classmates. We are both employed at Fayetteville State Teachers' College. I teach French and English and James teaches Physlical Education and Mathematics. To our surprise as we boarded the plane, the stewardess was none other than Ella Everette, who informed us that Shirell Rowland was the pilot and Willie Williams was the co- pilot. Our first stop was in Washington, We were greeted there by Nellie Sanders and Marjorie Lockett, who were stenographers at the White House. They took us to Howard University where George Sanders was President. William Byrd and James McCalvin were athletic instructors, Winnie Eason and Flossie Williams are Biology teachers. After leaving there, we went to Byrant's Hotel, which was owned by Royastine Bryant. His wife, Lucinda Badgett was head Dietician. Working with her were Bettie Hood and Ruby Watson. After bidding farewell to our friends, we went to New York. On the plane were Mildred Williamson, who had gotten married and has two boys: Verdell Morgan, who is teaching at U.C. L.A. , and Ella Troublefield, who was head Beautician at the Troublefield's Beauty Salon in New York, on Fifth Avenue. After chatting for awhile, I picked up an Ebony magazine and discovered that Joseph DeLaine was the editor. On the cover was Miss Dorothy Cooper, featured actress of Unforgotten Love, which was produced by Jimmie Rowland, and directed by Samuel Whitley. We finally reached New York, where we found the Rest In Heavenly Peace funeral home owned by Paul Mangum, with Martha Williams as his private secretary. That evening we went to the office of Dr. Donzell Hunter, and found Mary Hagins, his nurse. In the adjoining office was Dr. Pauline Watson, who informed us that Pinese Utley and Arnetta Watkins were Laboratory Technicians at Columbia University, with Virginia Green as Dean. Then we flew to California. We went to the Welfare Department and found Cynthia Gardner, President. Leaving there, we went to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we found Shirley Bell studying for her Ph. D. degree at the University of New Mexico. Dorothy Mitchell was there also, teaching psychology. We are now returning home, thinking over the things we used to do at Dear Old Cooper High.
