B Division How does one know when he sees a man from B Division? He's usually covered in soot or grease, streaked by the sweat on his forehead, with a broad srnile to show that his work isn't all that bad. B Division is charged with operating and maintaining the ship 's four boilers. Any BT will tell you that they can be the most sensitive pieces of equipment on the ship, yet the largest, hottest and dirtiest. Boilers know no day or night, nor liberty hours, and they require unceasing attention. The boilers operated by B Division per- sonnel are the lifestream of the ship. They produce the steam which is piped to the many heaters and steam-operated equipment 1 l'.h1'O'llghOU.t the ship, i11C1'lldll'1g the Inaill ell' ENS. D.
