2nd Division 2nd Division shares with lst Division the major responsibility for the appearance of the ship. Responsible for the boats, boat- decks, fantail and especially the Quarter- deck area, 2nd Division has it's hands full. The Quarterdeck is normally the first spot a visitor sees, and thanks to 2nd Division his first impression is always highly fa- vorable. The crew depends on them for liberty boats, and 2nd Division is always called on to repair the damage after a mis- sile shoot. Though labeled 2nd , the spaces and equipment under their care are always 1st rate. 1-Q ENS J. H. BARKER, III, USN Second Lieutenant
