bear tracks writes way to success The 1976-77 Bear Tracks staff consists of: Front Row: Ken Lawrence, Clay Sanger, Estle Lewis, and Greg Maud. Second 'll james Higgenbotham, Kelly Taft, Kim Taft, Third row: Junior Solomon, Annette Goree, Joyce Nowlin, Bobbi Bowen, Lisa Row: Mrs. Ashby, Phil Terrill, Wade Welch, Theresa Behrens, Ross, Bruce Smith, Kuff Wagner This year's Bear Tracks tried a few new ideas. One of the new ideas was having co-editors and also co-business managers. The idea worked out very well, and Mrs. Ashby is considering using it next year. A few Bear Tracks staff members attended the AIPA Convention on October 2, 1976. Also they participated in the Fine Arts Banquet. Quill and Scroll, a national journalism honorary, intiated six new members. ln order to qualify for this honorary, a student must be in the top 1O'Ma of his class and be recommended by the newspaper or yearbook sponsor. 118-escape 'NUM 2. Theresa Behrens examines the finished issue of Bear- tracks. 3. junior Solomon works on arranging copy for Bear Tracks. Page 119, 1. Greg Maud carefully cuts out headlines to be pasted on one of Bear Tracks pages. 2, Co-editors Phil Terrell and Wade Welch work together in producing the school newspaper. 3. Bonnie Bowen and Clay Sanger examine copy, 4. Sponsor Mrs. Ashby helps Phil Terrell with a layout, 5. Kim Taft carefully pastes a picture in the correct position. 6. Kurt VVagner draws cartoons to be placed in an issue of Bear Tracks.
