STUDENT COUNCIL Ofiicers of the Council include Richard Pincus, Treasurer, Barbara Harrison, Vice- President, Eugene Horowitz, President, Barbara Cohan, Secretary, and Morton Berg, Sergeant-at-Arms. The Calvin Coolidge Student Council is the agent between the student body and the faculty. Its activities make Coolidge a democratic school. Throughout the year the Council spon- sored before-game pep rallies in the cafeteria and provided programs for ar- dent fans at football and basketball games. The Football Finale, with music by the Sensational Six, dancing in the armory dur- ing the lunch periods, decorating a Christ- mas tree for the main hall, and a talent show in March were other proiects of the year. The Coolidge-Tech dance held in the Tech gymnasium on January 8 created good will between the two schools. Throughout the term, the Council cam- paigned vigorously for charitable activi- ties. In December Council members opened Coolidge's Country Store to collect canned goods for needy families. They sponsored the Toys for Tots Dance. The Bolling Field Air Force Band played at this event, at which large numbers of toys collected for distribution by the Marine Corps added to the Christmas Cheer.
