As I look back on my fwenfy years af Cooley, I can frufhfully call fhem among fhe mosf enjoyable of my life. If has been a privilege fo work in so cooperafive a communify and fo belong 'ro a school 'rhaf has helped fo shape fhe careers of fhe young people of fhe area. Thousands of boys and girls have come info fhe school and have leff fo live successful lives-successful in every meaning of fhe word. Cooley's fwenfy years have been years of achievemenf. We are proud of fhe greaf afhlefic feams fhaf have won more fhan fheir share of vicfories and have faken occasional defeafs wifh gracious sporfsmanship. Yef achievemenf is much broader fhan afhlefic vicfory. I have felf greaf ioy in fhe success of Cooley in ofher fields of endeavor: in music, in arf, in drarnafics, in publicafions, in wrifing and speaking con- fesfs, and in ofher acfivifes foo numerous for menfion. Oufsfancling records in colleges, success in fhe business and professional worlds-fhese foo are, in parf, Cooley vicfories. Looking back fhrough fhe years, we are saddened by fhe greaf war which fook fhe lives of fwo hundred of our boys.
