FACULTY The nucleus of all school activity is the faculty, headed by Mr. Owen A. Emmons, principal, assisted by Miss Mary F. Farnsworth and Mr. Walter L. Draper. A three-fold responsibility rests upon the teachers: assisting the stu- dent in his preparation for later life, sponsoring clubs and other organiza- tions promoting student-faculty co- operation. and engaging in special meetings to improve their own tech- niques. The efficiency of the ten subject de- partments and the counseling system has been largely responsible for the fine thirteen-year record of Cooley High School in educational work. At monthly cabinet meetings the depart- ment heads discuss ways of regulating and coordinating the separate depart- ments. The six counselors provide a means of giving attention to the indi- vidual's needs and affording personal supervision of school work. Owen A. Emmons Principal's Message STUDENTS OF COOLEY: Another happy school year at Cooley is drawing to its close. If that year has brought you a heightened appreciation of the privileges which are ours in the United States, it has been profit- able as well as enjoyable for you. In the Castellan are pictured the free and varied activities typical of the schools in our de- mocracy.
