CLASS PROPHECY Today I left the offrce a lrttle early so I decrded to go home and re arrange the furnrrure rn the lrttle apartment I shared wrth MILDRED She berng a nurse has to work at all hour! and has very lrttle trme for housework Whrle movrng the books out of the bookcase I came across our Cool Sprrng Annual dated 1953 19 5 3 How swrftly the years have Hown' Idly at first I began rurnrng the pages Of the Old dusty book every prcture every sentence brought memorres of those care free days spent at Cool Sprrng Many of the faces however had passed mto oblrvron and I had to hunt the prrnted names to recall the persons at all Not so my classmates When I reached the Senror Sectron I sat down and gave myself up to an hour of happy remrnrscrng One by one I gazed at the youthful prctures of my classmates There on the first page were IOANNA now a Metropolrtan Opera Star and FRANCES the sole owner of Crawford Candy Cane Confectroners and SARA well the last I heard she was teachrng anesthetrcs at Catawba College And there were KATIE and NELLIE What drd I hear about them? Oh now I remember they went our west bought a small ranch on whrch orl was drscovered and now they are qurte wealthy lWrsh they would throw some of those thousands my way?
