IN APPRECIATION Mr. Alex Futch - Mrs. W. C. Patterson Thirty-five years' service-these four words mean very little unless you can look back through them and divide them into months and weeks, days and indi- vidual minutes of memories . . . and in those days and minutes see the faces of the students or their heads bent over the books . . . hear the voices, the chalk against the blackboard, the bells, the clat- ter of feet . . . remember the crises fminor and majorj, the disappointments-but most of all, the pleasures, for memory rounds the rough edges off reality. For thirty-five years of patience and kindness and dedicated attention to the young people of this school and commun- ity, the staff joins all those who have been here before in dedicating this volume to you, Mrs. W. C. Patterson. Want a picture made? . . . the bell sys- tem repaired? . . . the film projector threaded? At Cook High, you call for Mr. Alex Futch, a man of many talents, whose varied activities include the teaching of physics and chemistry. Mr. Jossey's teaching experience includes ten years as principal and teacher and three years as County School Superintendent. Having served in the Army for five years, Mr, ,lossey received his degrees from Georgia Teachers College and Mercer University. Laboratory technician in the Air Corps for three years, Mr. Summer- lin has been in the teaching pro- fession for twenty-one years. During his years at Berry College and the University of Georgia. he was active on the basketball team. cross country team, track team and in the Varsity Club. Receiving his degree from Georg gia Teachers College, Mr. Sessions has been teaching for twenty-two years.
