The door opens and who should step out on the stair but our old classmate, Sue Ferguson. She is Mr, Eisenhower's private stewardess, the only one of her kind. We talk with Sue awhile before our plane leaves and she tells us that they had just come from a meeting in Washington, where she had run into another old classmate. It seems as though Mark Yoh had become the owner of General Motors and then taken over the job as Secretary of Defense. He is doing very well, too. You know the old slogan of What's good for Yoh's Motors is good for the country. Sue also told us that Janet Rogers was making the headlines. It seems that she took a job as Private Secretary to Dave Beck, and has been hiding behind the Sth Amendment for quite a while now. Our plane finally arrives and we step aboard. After sitting in the seat for a while, my eyes begin to play tricks on me, because I think I see someone I know. Well, what do you know. It's Elvis Presley and his baby-sitter, who is none other than Ruth Waltmire. I guess Ruth decided that she wanted to get closer to the arts, so she applied for a job with Elvis. Floria Schmidt also applied, but she received a better offer. She's now the owner of Rin-Tin-Tin and is pulling in quite a large amount of money. Since we are going west, we stop over in Chicago. Who should be at the airport to meet us but Marvel Etzler. It seems she heard we would be arriving so she left the office to come down, Oh, you probably don't recall, but Marvel went on to Nurses' Training and got a job with Doctor Hudson, l hear he even keeps his journal a secret from her. Marvel tells us to be sure to stop in at the museum of art because we would get to see Robert Leslie's exhibit, He has had exhibits all over the world now, and his paintings are selling very rapidly. He has started a new phase in painting called Neilism. We then went to Denver, where we had another stopover, As you know, the Air Force has its academy out there and who should we see, but Alvin Pancake. He has a very high-ranking job, and is known all over the country. He plays Reville every morning over a loud speaker which is connected with every camp in the United States. Also, in Denver, we saw Bill Mohr, He came out here to get away from it all. He goes to the art institute, I guess, He was so disappointed because he didn't get his James Dean Statues, that he went into the business and has made a fortune selling them. We stop at Hollywood to let Elvis and Ruth off and we see another familiar face. This is on a billboard advertising a movie. Yep, we always knew Gene would make the bag time some day. Why, with his looks and acting ability, how can you miss? Taking off across the blue Pacific, we wonder if we will ever see any of the other old school chums. When we arrive on Hawaii, we get our answer. There, lying on the beach, with not a care in the world, is Bob Mefferd. We always knew that sleeping in class would influence his life, but not this much! Bob Dowler was with him, buthehad to ily back to the states to work on a new secret device which the government is preparing, He always was a smart lad. We were also just in time to view the air-show, which was put on by a daring pilot, who was doing a pantomime while standing on the wing of the plane. We were certainly surprised to find out that it was Linda Mollenkopf, but we always said that she had a lot of energy. We also found that Charlene Graham was teaching in Honolulu. She's a hula instruc- tor. Charlene tells us that Anna Weaver has just won the Homemaker of the Year award, and that Virginia Trimble was selected as Mrs, World. They're quite a tribute to our class, She also said that Ellouise Wood was in Mexico teaching English with a Southern accent to wetbacks who were crossing into the United States. It seems that E1la's sister, Wilma, is running a mink ranch somewhere in the West. I don't know who told Charlene all this, but it was very interesting We are on to Japan to find more experiences like finding Norm Miller pulling a rickshaw, poor guy. He had just gotten a ticket for speeding. ln India, we hear that Jeanette Krueckeberg has just led an expedition up a mountain side. The latest report has it that they JFS Hearing the top. We were fortunate indeed to receive an invitation to dinner from an Indian prince. We were certainly surprised to find that his wife was Joan Greulach, She had been his secretary. Joan tells us that her old friend, Betty Etzler has had a good stroke of luck, She went to Africa to teach and fell into a diamond mind. She is now sending samples to all her friends. Joan asks about Ruth Schumm and we tell her that Ruth has been touring the StateS and giving talks. She is America's leading fashion designer. We leave exotic India and arrive in gay Paris, where we see Jeanette Baer climbing the Eiffel Tower, She does it every year. As we cross to England, we come along side a swimmer, who happens to be Karen Sinn. She has to practice to win the channel meet against Florence Chadwick. Karen says that Janet Slane and Pat Foley had just been m England. They had given a command per- formance for the queen. I guess they are great opera stars with an English company. We also learned that Colleen Reid is in the entertainment world. She is in New Orleans playing piano for some jazz band. On our way home and across the Atlantic, we finally come to New York. As we register at the hotel, we meet the owner, Judy May, Judy never was one to leave a job half finished, She built the biggest hotel in the world, a mile high a.nd covering four city blocks. Judy tells us that Janet Grant went to college to become a physical education teacher, but won the Olympics last year. What field? Weight lifting, Iguess. Our old friend Audrey Springer is also in New York, She is the organist at one of New York's largest churches. ln Van Wert again, we see that the new president of Bushong Ford Sales has really been remodeling, Joseph was always good at building. Finally back to Convoy, we meet the only classmate who remained at home. Sondra Densel has the largest home in Convoy. Don't worry about the railroad that goes through her house, She owns that too, Well, Pd better get my column written. You knew that I was the foreign corres- pondent for the world's largest newspaper, didn't you? Which one? Why, the Radar.
