BELLEROPHON SENIOR CLASS HISTORY It was on the Monday morning of September 12, 1928, that Hfty-four mere papooses in the world of higher learning found their way into the Indian reservaf tion, better known as the study hall of TullyfConvoy High School. Our first step was to organize and elect our class officers, namely: Hazel Rader, presidentg Ward McDaniel, vicefpresidentg Rex Hanley, secretaryg Elizabeth Mollenf kopf, treasurer. Mr. Swartz was our class advisor. Next we chose purple and gold as our class colors. We were found active during the school year in the many school activities such as Football, Basketball, Glee Clubs, Girl Reserves, and Cheer Leader. However, our greatest achievement was presenting the Arbor Day Program. As beginners, our blankets bore green as the predominating color, they softened into more pleasing shades as the year advanced. Soon the term was brought to a close with a picnic held in th Etzler Grove, at which all hailed glad welcome to vacation. With cheery greetings for all, this same group of ambitious boys and girls en' tered school as Sophs, with their arrows pointing directly toward Geometry, Latin II, History, etc. The organizing of our class came first, with the election of Rex Hanley, presif dent, Gail Mohr, vicefpresidentg and Clifford Schaadt, secretaryftreasurer. Mr. Jameson was our sponsor. We chose the daffodil as the class flower, and green and white as our colors. The motto chosen by the class as a standard to live up to was In the ocean of humanity, we will either sink or swim. The first form of entertainment was a weiner roast held in Turner's woods, at which the Freshmen were our guests. As before, we were well represented in the various activities of the school and were proud of the goodly number to receive letters in the field of athletics. This year we gave the Washington and Lincoln birthday program. With these accomplishments, we closed our school year with a theater party at Van Wert. September again unites the class of '32 as braves and maidens, who drape our blankets about us and settle down to conquer our many tasks. By this time eveiy member has learned to swim, and with steady continued strokes we find ourselves nearer that goal for which each so earnestly strives to reach. With Miss Sattler as our class advisor, Rex Hanley, president, Marlin Kilgore, vice-president, and Hazel Rader, secretaryftreasurer, we went forward into the many money making projects, namely: bake sales, selling of jello, magazine campaign, etc. Cur feature program of the year was given at Thanksgiving. Still holding our own in the field of activities, we ventured into an unknown territory, the land of class plays and receptions, each proving to be an overwhelming success. Thus we separated for another vacation. Behold forty chiefs enter upon the last stretch of our high school career! For the last time this tribe chose able leaders, as Gail Mohr, president, Marlin Kilgore, vicefpresidentg and Arthur Mosel, secretaryftreasurer, to help in the sub' duing of our foes, American Problems, Physics, etc. Still claiming the same motto, class flower, and class colors, we strive to hold our standing as sportsmen and students. Not only the members of the staff but every member of the class worked willingly to make the Bellerophon a success. And now as the class of '32 must swim out of the protected harbor into the open sea, we hope that the knowledge attained at Tully-Convoy High School will be a help to ourselves and our comrades in life. -Helen Denig.
