The Oak Hill School Corporation was formed August 1, 1957, consisting of Richland and Pleasant Townships of Grant County and Jackson Township of Miami County. The span of the corporation is fourteen by sixteen miles and has an assessed valuation of ten and a half million dollars with approx- imately one thousand students. The school board consists of each of the three township trustees by nature of his office. Each advisory board appoints one member, and then all three advisory boards appoint one member at large, which makes a school board of seven members. Plans are being prepared for a new junior-senior high school to be built at the northeast intersection of State Roads 13 and l8 which is north of Mier. This building will accommodate six hundred pupils. The present Sweetser and Converse buildings will house the elementary grades. FREED Dear Friends, Through the efforts of a fine, co-operative staff, we are presenting the '58 Borderlite. We feel this is truly one of the best annuals that has been presented to this community. When you, the students of Converse, look through this book of memoriesf, may the jubilant moments o'er shadow the thoroughly disgusting times. Try to make the best of your youthful days in school so you will be prepared to 'cface a challenging worldf, I, as editor of this annual, sincerely hope you enjoy this year- book, for I have greatly enjoyed compiling it for you, my class- mates, parents, teachers, and community of Converse.
