that looked famlhar Stopping at a farmhouse to inquire wht rt ln was he noticed the name on the mailbox C Bowman There Jeanie greeted him at the dot r Visiting with her for some time he learned that she and f ene were very happily m irried and the parents of two children Telling of her career prompted leanle into showing him her small beauty salon There he was surprised to find Twlla sitting under the dryer l lvlng close to Ieanle Twila had consented to be her model for the new hair styles of the coming year before trying them on someone else After finishing her business course at Ball State Twlla had married and accepted the position of receptlonist for Dr Janet Hodson who was now the leading dentist of Marion serylng five thousand patients each year lanet had never married but deyoted her hfe to dentistry and looking down in the mouth The girls went ahead to tell Mr Car baugh that seyeral of the remaining classmates were living and working near Indianapolis Determined to see them Mr Carbaugh started on the road toward his destination listen mg to the radio while riding along he suddenly heard a very farmhar voice singing Wdll mg impatiently for the ending he heard the announcer say The selection you just heard was sung by La'ylerle Alexander fformerly Wales! and accompanied by Roxanna Hvman at the organ They he knew had reached the peak of success m the music world Shh Shh Shh Shh Yes a tire was low but fortunately there was a filling station wlthln a few rods Driving in he was greeted by H1 there Mr Carbaugh And who should be standing in the doorway but lim Malone wearing the umform of a filling station attendant For his vocation jim had chosen that of a dry cleaner and had his establishment in Indian apolis In the meantime though he was plnchhlttlng for Ronnie 'Vlygrant who was in Alaska trapping His side line was selling lceboxes to the ESklmltS Ronnie s hobby had al ways been trapping. and Mr Carbaugh learned from ,lim that he had been verv successful in organizing several hunting expeditions into the Arctic region ,llm had kept In contact with only two of llls former elassmates time to helping the children at the hospital she was married and the mother 1 f three elul dren Also she had a children s program on television once a week Donal Ben Nliller had always enjoyed farming but apparently the tall to the coachmg world was greater for he was the head coach of Teclunal High School His boys had won the state tournament last year and rated among the top ten in the United btates A glance at his watch told Vlr Carbaugh that it was almost noon Upon asking where he might find a good place to eat he was told of Mary los Terr al Inn Situated at the air port thousands of people from all over the world enjoyed Mary ,lo s delicious home cooked meals while waiting between planes Xlthough Mr Carbauffh found the inn quite crowded Mary ,lo immediately recognized him and showed him to a quiet corner table where he might enjoy a meal in peace While eating someone in a huge white fur piece brushed past him Looking up to flnd a very charming lady and handsome man standing above him Mr Carbaugh recognized them to be none other than Marilyn Owen and Jan Arrick These two had won the academy award for appearing in the Martlyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio Story and were now enroute to New York to appear on Broadway At sight of their former teacher and sponsor Jan and Marilyn insisted that he accompany them on their trip After bemg dragged across the runway Mr Carbaugh found himself sitting in a large TWA Constella tron plane Suddenly a sweet voice said Fasten your safety belts please We are now leaving the ground After hearing the voice Mr Carbaugh called for the stewardess and was amazed to find a very neatly dressed Judy C arber After graduating from Indiana Um versity Judy had completed her lifetime desire of becoming an airline stewardess Mr Car baugh sat back in his seat and smiled because he had seen or heard of each member of the class of 56 Suddenly there was a jolt By the tone of Judy s voice as she rushed from seat to seat ln an effort to quiet the passengers Mr Carbaugh reahaed that something was wrong Down down down' The plane crashed to the ground Grandpa grandpa wake up wake up When Mr Carbaugh opened his eyes he found himself tn the floor with little Blair be side him Grandpa you must have had a nightmare' 'Nightmare' No indeed' Twas a very pleasant dream ,, ' N . . , .
