eachfa gfcblazq We were frlled wrth Joy and anxrety as seven of us walked through the door of C H S for the frrst trme rn 1940 There was Ralph Davis Paul Boesrng Darnell Clevenger I1m Howard Krrk Mlller George DeW1tt and a little red headed krd with freckles named Douglas Mylet George was late the flrst mormng and made xt a habrt the followrng twelve years At the beginnmg of our second year a llttle blonde girl entered our class from Marion She was Marguente Brookshire When we were all settled down to work a small g1.rl wlth stratght brown hair and long brown socks walked rn We learned that her name was Betty Sue Sears from Vandozer Missoun In the thtrd grade we had one new student Rosemary Williams from Unron Crty Do you recall the day one of the boys decrded to put her long curls rn an rnkbottle? '7 '7 ln the stxth grade Bill Green entered our class from Roseburgh makmg rt an even ten We were really proud when we were promoted to the seventh grade We were 1n Junror Hlgh School Y Doyou remember when we got to go into the Study Hall for the fust ume Wlth all the brg SCIIIOIS7 'P Our class consisted of twelve that year Joe Danforth from Marlon and Iudrth Kelsay from North Grove became members Iudy was elected one of the Jr Hxgh cheer 1eade.s lt was an unforgettable day when we enrolled rn the n1nth grade as freshmen New students were Norman Horner from North Grove Lourse McCracken Clayton Mrller Cloyd Mast Mark Graham Mtnam Renbarger and Leonard Barker all from Mrer Remember how our hearts went pxtty pat when the Mler sxght Louise McCracken was our track queen attendant During our sophomore year Donna Burgener enrolled from Sweetser and Pat Eltzroth from Marlon Judy Kelsay and Minam Renbarger were elected cheereladers Judy was track queen wrth Pat for her attendant Ioan Wagoner enrolled at the beginmng of our Junror year and Rosemary Wxlliams moved to Kentland Mlnam was cheer leader again and also track queen attendant We received our class rrngs and sweaters Most of us were pretty proud but others lost thelrs quickly We presented the Iumor play The Perfect Idrot with Kirk and Paul as mam characters It was dtrected by Mrs Barbara Swrngle Frnally we are senxors Rosemary Just couldn tstay away from her old classmates so she moved back tlus year Fred Boeslng enrolled ln our class after previously berng discharged from the Navy making our twenty four Seniors Clayton Miller was elected Presxdent B111 Green Vice President Louise McCracken Secretary and Ioan Wagoner Treasurer We publrshed The Porcupxne and edrted The Borderllte We presented the Senior play They Gave l-hm a Co Ed starnng George Dew1tt Mr Smith was our director Miriam was cheer leader for the thud time Now we look back through twelve years of happmess and remember when we were llttle tots just walking to school We feel that our happiness IS complete Our Semor Class of 52 boys walked in? ? ? Rosemary fell for Mark right away, and Betty and Cloyd thought it was love at first
