refreshen them so they could arrmve 1n Indrana by d1nner They landed besrde the statlon and an attendant came to welcome them Imagme the1r delxght when they saw Mrs Gale Jaynes or the former Donna Pr1tchett and f1ve younger Jaynes s After a late breakfast they journeyed on to Ch1cago Wh1le stoppmng at Marshall Frelds they bumped 1nto Mary Stambaugh Malott She mvltgc them to the1r mght club the 50 Club whenever they were rn Chxcago agam They bade her good bye and w1th th1s were on the1r way to Ind1ana V1rg1n1a was homes1ck for the Hooszer state Whll, flyrng over Clay Townsh1p they saw Tom Sm1th h1s w1fe and four ch1ldren They hardly knew what to say when Tom talked for one solxd hour wrthout stoppmng They hopped 1nto Puddles and contmued on untml they saw two very lmpress1ve lookmg farm houses Leanmg over the fence that d1v1ded the farms were Mrs Donald Hunt or Phylhs Whxtlock and Mrs Clarence Br1 ker or Wanda Lou Mendell They were havmg qu1te a conversatxon but both were w1l11ng to stop the gOSS1p so they ould tell Bobble and Vrrgxma the news Phyllxs sa1d they ra1sed e1ght ch1ldren and now are practrcally ra1s1ng f1ve grand hrldren Wanda Lou was rather trred lookmg and somewhat heav1er but they knew why when she sa1d she had ramsed a basketball team and three yell leaders Mrs Brrcker and Mrs Hunt 1nv1ted them rn to v1s1t but they d1dn t have enough t1me as they wanted to stop a few m1nutes and v1s1t wxth Manlyn Brewer They were greatly suprpxsed to see that three of her ch1ldren were st1ll at home Mar1lyn and Mug had to wa1t a few years to marry as Mar1lyn had to pat h up her former romances After thrs they Jomed hands 1n marrrage and she rs very happy as the w1fe of the D1str1ct Street Cleaner of Amboy As they left Mar1lyn s she told them that Jean McCollom l1ved out of Amboy and that they were on the1r way to ra1s1ng a large famxly wrth twelve as a start The1r house was a l1ttle run down but w1th twelve ch11dren one can t expect much more Belreve xt or not Jean Couldn t thmk of very much to talk about V1rg1n1a was rn a hurry to get back to Converse so they left the Lawson s and landed 1n Converse at the home of Mr and Mrs Leon Olmger Mrs Ol1nger or Gladys Brookshrre came to greet them at the door Therr home was very n1ce and they seemed happy just the two of them Gladys sa1d she and Leon were max-r1ed the day after she came home from the Semor tr1p Bobb1e and V11 P1 1a wanted to do someth1ng else so they went to see Wayne Sherxck play on the Anderson Packer s Team He was h1gh poxnt man w1th seventy e1ght pomts and h1s team won by the score of 78 73 He sa1d a basketball would always mean more to h1m than a woman From Anderson they went to Kokomo to see 1f Janet Cochran Artherhults l1ked marrred hfe as well as she d1d when she was a Semor She seemed very happy and sa1d she wlshed Bob and Vxrglma could have been there the year before to help Dale and her celebrate the1r Golden Weddmg Anmversary Mr and Mrs Frsher headed for the1r Washmgton home In a half hour the1r dest1nat1on was reached As they were gettxng off the rocket a b1g fat man bumped mto them They started to saw somethrng to h1m but by the t1me they even got the1r mouths open thxs man was holdmg up h1s papers to show t-hem he was from the FBI One can t 1mag1ne how they looked when they saw JaCk Garber He sa1d he was lookmg for a group of teachers from C H S that made h1m get h1s lesson ba k 1n 1950 The1r trxp ended very happlly As V1rg1n1a and Bob started to eat the1r supper they found the steak already salted from the1r tears but then thrs was s1lly to cry after all the fun they had had the trouble they had gotten mto teachers they had teased lessons they hadn t gotten and othe thmgs they drd that no one heard anythmg about at C H S As they retlred that evenxng all they could thmk about was that wonderful Class of 1950 and all the Joys they had shared there 1n the old hall of C H S 18 should' stop and see them.
