Class Poem MA TURATION A crescent, infant self, a sickle blade, The new moon, timorous, rose upon a night Swift-sweeping as the shadow in a glade That skims beneath some Wild-Winged creature' Fresh sown with seedling stars the field Soon ripened richly with a harvest bright. s flight So small, the sickle moon its task must yield- To reap celestial sheaves with its small might. My spirit from its venture shrinks and shies. Too great, the task the World sets in my sight. I, too, would have the harvest of the skies.
