It is the culmination of 13 years of learning and the beginning of our future. This year, the Seniors went on a one day field trip to Columbus, where they toured the State Capitol, The Center of Science and Industry and spent some time shopping in downtown Columbus. The Seniors also had two foreign exchange students spending their last year with them, Birthe Nissen from Germany and Clovis Pinto from Brazil. All the times we shared will always mean so much to us because we are the class of 1979. Job 1, 2, 3, 4. (2[ouii iPinto Foreign Exchange Student trom Brazil, Track 4. Class Colors Royal Blue Light Blue Class Flower Deep Red Rose Class Motto Our greatest glory consists, not in never falling but in rising every time we fall. 4 r IH .. x _ 'jtL l5C Every moment of this strange and lovely life, from dawn to dusk, is a miracle. Somewhere, always, a rose is opening its petals to the dawn. Somewhere, always, a flower is fading in the dusk. The incense that rises with the sun! and the scents that die in the dark, are all gathered, sooner or later, into the solitary fragrance that is God. Faintly, elusively, that fragrance lingers overall of us. —Beverley Nichols In loving memory of Kenny Searfoss 1959-1977 SENIORS 29 L • - . But now it doesn't matter, so long as I know that the right way is open, and there I must go. I’ll do the right things. I'll try to be strong though evil may enter. I’ll push it along. Ohio Kalida : Specialist in Build 160 If anyone would sit in on a Yearbook meeting they would know all the hard work and dedication that goes into making a successful book. We had many quarrels and feelings of defeat, but came through in shining colors and have given you the 1979 Pirate. A very special thanks goes to Jenny VonderEmbse, our advisor, to whom much of the credit of the success of this book belongs. My special thanks to Deb Heitzman, co-Edi tor, the photographers and the staff who all worked very hard to complete the 1979 Pirate. I would also like to thank our Yearbook representatives, Steve White and Steve Scruta who helped us solve many problems. Also, thanks to anyone else who helped in any way with the yearbook. This book contains many cherished memories and will become a link to our past in future years. As the book has stated, we are caught up in many things: challenges, routine, spirit, decisions, enthusiasm and finally, the future. We are the future, the students and faculty of Continental High School. Jerry Mansfield 1979 Editor
