Safe and effective control of airborne aircraft is the responsibility of Air Operations and CCA — Carrier Controlled Approach, which are manned by the Fleet Air Traffic Controllers of OC Division. OC Division mans the Carrier Air Traffic Control Center. This team of controller- sailors perform a variety of jobs and services in support of Connie ' s missions. These include control of airwing and departing aircraft, close control of aircraft during night operations and inclement weather, provide aircraft divert information, control of airborne refueling operations, flight plan filing, coordination of airspace reservations, ship ' s airborne logistics and overall supervision of Connie ' s Air Operations through airplane implementation.
