UNDERCLA SSMEN The Junior Class, now anticipating the glory of spending their last year at Conshohocken High as honored seniors, look back on their junior year and recall some of its highlights. First, they remember their main sale of the year which was the selling of Christmas cards and other Christmas items. Next, the Juniors recall with pride their selection and purchase of their class ring. Finally, the Juniors remember the selection of class officers for their senior year as a most important event. The Juniors know they made a wise selection in appointing James Squire, an honor student, as president of their class and they are equally proud of their choice of vice-president, Joseph Cermanski; of treasurer, David Spence; and of secretary, Beth-anne Bailey. The Juniors look eagerly forward to a senior year full of many exciting activities and worthwhile projects. Of course, they also look seriously forward to the coming final year with determination to study and work hard to prepare themselves for the future. Joan proved to be not only a fine majorette, but also a conscientious leader who spent many hours preparing new routines for the twirlers. MASCOT Nicholas ’’Buddy” Racich is the newest member to our band. This brown-haired, blue-eyed charmer turned many heads at the games in the parades. ASSISTANT MAJORETTE Icy cold weather didn't hamper Marjorie Speaker’s fine twirling ability one bit. Whether twirling or marching, Marge led the twirlers in fine style. She has proven herself capable of handling the job next year. Flashing batons and unique routines sparked the appearances of the high-stepping twirlers. C. Reczka, S. Sibole, C. Smith, J. Mathis, B. RICHARD V. WOOD — Baseball 1; ECHO 3. CLA SS HISTOR Y As we look back on our high school years, we realize that every day brought some new or memorable event. But, let us now recall the highlights. In our senior year, Miss Catherine Higgins and Mrs. Katherine Lorenz gave unstintingly of their time and efforts to serve as our class advisors. After the confusion of the first days of school was over, we set out to augment our treasury for the final time by selling magazine subscriptions, and the yearbook staff began to compile the annual publication. April brought the New York trip for the musically inclined members of our class and play try-outs for our amateur thespians. Who will ever forget Donnie Chendorain's antics as Glenn in the senior play, Come Rain or Shine . With the coming of May, our activities reached even higher heights. Eagerly, we began preparation for our senior prom, Graduation Ball, to be held on May 18. Under the magic wand of the Prom Committee, the Fellowship House became a garden ballroom fit for a queen. Afterwards, the couples dined and danced at the Post-Prom Party sponsored by the high school P. T. A. To round out the year's social activities, the sophomore hop, Peppermint Lounge, was the scene of the coronation of Barbara Ingles and William Lightkep as Queen and King. June 7 marked our Class Day exercises, which included the reading of the Class History, Will, Prophecy, and Who's Who and several instrumental and vocal solos. On June 10, we attended the Baccalaureate Service held in the high school auditorium. With mixed emotions we anticipated our Commencement on June 15, realizing that we would no longer be together as we had been for the past three years. But let us now turn the hands of time backoneyear. In the fall of 1960, we assumed the role of juniors. Miss Catherine Higgins served as class advisor. As juniors, February 24 is the day to remember, for with that day came the arrival of our long-awaited class rings. We will always remember the exuberance with which we proudly showed our shining new rings to the others around us. Unable to sit quietly and watch the remainder of the year go by, we made preparations for a junior dance, which proved to be an enjoyable project. Then, almost before we realized it, final exams were over and our junior year was completed. Let us now turn the hands of time back one more year. During the fall of 1959, our newly organized Sophomore class, under the supervision of Miss Catherine Higgins, elected the officers for the year. We eagerly anticipated May 21, the night of our first class-sponsored event. Through the work of a skillful decorating committee, the Fellowship H o u s e was transformed into an Underwater Paradise. A rainy evening did not dampen anyone's spirits, and oddly enough, seemed to provide a perfect atmosphere for our theme. These are all fond recollections, but now we must look to the future. With every passing hour, we now commence to travel the highway to maturity with each of us turning off onto a different route to reach the destinations which will become each one's history. 78 PATRONS Mr. and Mrs. Fred L.
