We ll need the light of vision To mold and shape our daily thoughts and aims, To guide our every action In worthy and honest endeavor. We ll need the light of vision To play life's game with head erect, And so elude the petty foes That spell dishonor or defeat. We ll need the gift of courage To conquer many temptations and fears— Lurking enemies in our path— As we journey ever toward our goal. We ll need the gift of courage To attack our work with a will, And if in our efforts we fail— Trying again demands courage. We ll need the will to hold on Although many of our best attempts fail. Honor lies in doing the job, Not alone in a fresh beginning. We ll need the will to keep on — To do a bit more than our share. But that we ever do our best— Is the goal at which we would aim.
