SWIMMING Swimmers Cause a Splash in 16 5-A The Tiger swimming and diving schedule could just be the most difficult schedule assembled in the state of Texas, as eight of ten opponents finished in the Top 20 of last year ' s State Meet. Included on that list is Clear Lake High School, defending state champions for ten years. This was to be a season to remember. Led by seniors Doug Campbell, Cheryl Fredrickson, Mike Haughey and Leah Kennedy, the swim- mers entered the competition with spirit that makes all Tigers special. The Tigers entered the season with more depth than in years past, as they carry a squad of 32 members, each person vital in what could prove to be a promising year. Returning to the team are seven Regional qualifiers from last year ' s team, including a host of underclassmen and a cast of promising freshmen. The key in- gredient to the success of this year ' s team was keeping everyone healthy, explains second year coach Tom Harwood, That, along with the difficult scheduling could prove to be the Tigers ' only nemesis.
