Coach Buddy Moorhead It has been approximately two months since our season ended. During time I have spent many hours thinking, pouting, and wondering about i ' uture. I ' m sure you have too. It is time to stop pouting and to set joals. Tradition here has been that I meet with the Seniors on the first ly following the last game for the last time. , This year as you know, I tried to meet with you on two different iions. I could not talk. I choked! I know that you were expecting great advice and some words that would make you feel better. You jved none and I sincerely apologize for that. I have been coaching along time and I have been associated with a lot -eat teams and outstanding young men. I have always been guilty of ing too close to my players, but this year was different. I have known lajority of you, all of your lives. I got so close that sometimes I :rouble communicating. As you well know by now I am a very emotional person, and my love ;his group of Seniors caused me to choke nearly to. death at times when )ke to you or about you. You have had such great character and pride and you have worked so It all paid off. The greatest season ever for the Tigers. Now you are entering another phase of life. This phase is a little ler. You have had success in football because you made a commitment, loved and cared for one another and put forth effort that you didn ' t that you had. Go into this phase of life with the same determination ittitude and you will achieve your goals. You must also realize that this 1s a phase of life that is also very 1 on your parents. Always let your parents know that you love them, b wait until Its too late to tell them that you love them. Set your goals high, work hard, and you will get there. I love you guys, God Bless you. Coactki orhe; The following is the last letter Coach Buddy Moorhead wrote to the Boy ' s. It showed the love and concern he had for not only the students, but everyone he canie into contact with. He graduated from CHS in 1957 and caine back to CISD as a coach in 1967. Moorhead led Golf teams and many football teams in outstanding records. He became Head Coach in 1980 where he remained at CHS until June 19, 1983. Coach Buddy Moorhead will be missed by all.
