Here and there the news so scatteredg She sends it out with thoughts so shattered It takes a brilliant minded lawyer To piece the thoughts so slaughtered. Self conscience was no name to her, I tell. The speech she wished to say ne'er fell, Her face would turn a ghastly pale, She'd pull at her dress so frail. Sheld ,catch her breath and simply say, I can't. Then walk down the isle so near in faint, And sympathetic tears the class would drop, So glad they were because she had to stop.
