FUTURE FARMERS The Conrad Chapter of th Future Farmers of Amerlca started the year wrth I1m Fowler as prestdent vrce prestdent Don Fowler secretary Bob Hostetter treasurer Bernard Koemg reporter Kenneth Merklrng and Norbert MaJerus adv1sor The followmg Green Hands 1n1t1ated on October 16 were Mahlon Wrpper man Kenneth Bowman Lyman Denzer Fdward El1ngs Tom Floerchxnger Ted Letz Tom Letz Ielmer Meyers Ed Rencurel Leo Rogers Clrfford Rossberg Don S 1Qf1Sl Arnet Smedsrud Lenard Thoreson Oscar Totdahl Arlyn Torske and Walter Myers The Twelfth Ann al Banquet of the Conrad Future Farmers of Amenca was held 1n the Conrad Hrgh School gymnasrum The members of the chapter th1s year shot pheasants to supply meat for the banquet There were one hundred and ten quests present Robert Sluys and Iunlor Robrnson who had two grlts aprece whrch be longed to the chapter gave them to the followmg four boys Edward Rencurel Tom Floerchlnger Carl Wxpperman and Everett Myers Last fall the Chapter members entered exhtblts 1n both fa1rs and took rn The Chapter has also sponsored a vegetable drlve for the school hot lunch and has successfully carrred on a campalgn to buy War Stamps hm Fowler and Bernard Koentg applled for state farmer degrees Only two can be chosen from any one chapter Furthermore they must be rn the upper thrrd of therr class must have made at least S225 on prolect programs and outstandmg 1n F F A leadershrp F F A delegates were elected to attend the annual state conventlon to be held at Bozeman on March 25 26 Ilrn Fowler and Bernard Koemg were chosen At the conventlon hm Fowler recelved h1s degree PTCW Part Tlme Cooperatlve Work grves the students a chance to get ahead ln the world Occupatrons and lndustrral Relatrons are two worthwhrle sublects that grve you your background for busrness Most students work three hours a day and are pard by the employers On behalf of all the students we w1sh to take thls pr1v1lege to thank the busrness men of Conrad Thrs year unl1ke prevrous years there are few enrolled rn the class Exght students are worktng tn local concerns Alrce Anderson Margaret Beattte Bob Hostetter Edythe Moore Frances Nrgg Cathenne Pourroy Don Severtson lean Vermulm Ben Franklm Safeway Farmers Co op Salansky s Penney s Penney s Cwambles Equrty Elevator 9 A Q' ' , ' , ' , ' , f about one hundred and eighty dollars.
