I UNIOR PROM Thls extravaganza of 1942 was presented on Aprll 18 rn hrgh honor for the departmg class of 42 The Iunlor Prom was the emoyment and lrfe of the Jumors whrle work on 1t was belng completed The steady however slow progress ultlmately pro duced a scene 1ns1de a Latln Amerxcon veranda or pat1o Enclosmg th1s patro on one srde was a hrgh rock wall hung w1th garlands of blossoms whtle under the balcony oppostte were graceful whrte festoons ln front of the orchestral stage stood a latt1ce fence draped wlth more unrque and fanc1ful flowers One of the more pleasrng effects was the huge mural upstage typrfymg Pan Amencamsm on whlch the flags of the twenty one Amerrcan Bepubhcs were pamted Punch was served from a rock wall near the fence Don Severtson and Donalda Berder led the grand march at nme o clock as the Rhythm Benders rendered Onward Conrad 1n swrngtlme Two robust grouchos Harold Hanson Ir and Bob Arnot Ir gave out 1nterest1ng pro grams contalnmg such numbers as the Bollvran Blues and the Costa RICO Canter Patrons and Patronesses were Supenntendent H P Lew1s Mr and Mrs The entlre class worked on the Prorn at one trme or another and w1th the trmely gurdance of Mr Cornn achreved the completlon Tom OBr1er1 as usual solved many complrcatrons We are deeply mdebted to all of these for assurxng the flnal success IUNIOR SENIOR BANQUET The fmal farewell to the class of 42 from the class of 43 was the lumor Senlor Banquet held rn the gym m1d the Prom decoratlons on Aprrl 20 1942 About 125 persons luntors Senlors and Faculty enloyed a dmner of South Amerlcan drshes prepared by mothers of the Jumors Many thanks go to these mothers for th1s lovely banquet Followlng custom the Sophomore gzrls served such dlshes as Ensalada de Argentma Pollo y Srmplon t cetera The program conslsted of the usual compltmentary C21 welcome and response of the two class pres1dents the talks of Mr Lewrs and Advtsors Cornn and Breeden Bette Emrrck gave a readlng and Betty Iune Koorstra and Dxclc McFarland playea a plano duet Dance musrc was played followmg the program and vlth th1s the Juntors and senlors forrrally parted I 0 , I.
